An Odd Lift...

Powerlifting can be done as a single rep or small sets (5 max). Just like those that compete in Olympic Lifting, Powerlifting competitions are all about that single max lift. This class of weightlifting evolved from an older category called “odd lifts”.

It's Not Always A Competition...

Today all types of people get into Powerlifting for everything from the weight loss to part of an overall training routine.
The Deadlift and Squat for example, rely upon complex muscle groups working together in a way that improves strength across the legs, back, and core. This, along with the improvement to skeletal health, vastly improves all other areas of training and exercise. It’s no wonder why we see even the unlikeliest of athletes training to be Powerlifters.
