The Strong Hold was started with a basic principle in mind: Create a space where the whole community can come together to enhance their lives through exercise and strength training with access to equipment and coaching. We strive to remove barriers and stereotypes often experienced in big box fitness chains and focus on cultivating a welcoming environment for anyone seeking to meet specific fitness goals or just improve daily life through diet and exercise.

Our Facility

Working out takes work! We knew going in, it was going to be no small task to convert a former office space into a fitness center. In a lot of ways tearing out everything inside the building to get things ready was a great workout in itself. Talk about ‘Functional Fitness’, as you can see in these photos there was plenty of heavy lifting to be done before we could even start to build out the space.  The whole process took the better part of a year, but looking back we would do it all over again!

Our Vision

Over many months we worked through supply chain shortages, labor shortages, and other hiccups along the way to shape our location into what you will see today. As the process evolved, we had to make some hard choices between everything we could want, and what was possible to deliver now. Our goal looking forward will be to slowly add more of the services and equipment on our “Ultimate Gym wishlist. Having worked for many other corporate gyms in the past, our team is thrilled to have the opportunity to finally answer the question “What would I offer if I had a gym of my own?”

Our Approach

The Strong Hold is owned and operated by people just like you. We have grinded it out for years as one of countless trainers in several nationally franchised fitness chains. While the chance to work with people one-on-one has always been a highlight, none of us liked the pressure we felt to sell clients on packages or training that they weren’t really asking for, or getting people into expensive memberships that can’t be canceled until the term was up. At the end of the day, we just want to help you to become the best version of yourself. If we can sustain ourselves in the process, then everyone wins!

About

Ronda was born and raised as one of eight kids growing up  in nearby Mankato MN. After earning a degree in fashion management and marketing, she worked her way up through the ranks in the jewelry and fashion industries with Fortune 500 companies. In 2007 Ronda was hired to manage a school bus company in St MN which allowed her to balance her career with family and her love of fitness and exercise.

Garrett has over ten years of personal training experience working with a wide variety of clientele of all age groups with different goals. Garrett’s philosophy is that physical activity extends far beyond structured exercise. As a personal trainer, he strives to provide his clients the capacity to exceed their individual goals both inside and outside of the gym through innovative program design and an infectious passion for health and fitness. Whether you want to be the next schwarzenegger, fit into a new bathing suit, or to simply keep up with your grandkids – Garrett can help you reach your potential

Katie Sellner

About

Katie is a Registered Dietitian & Functional Health Coach with 5+ years of professional experience in health and fitness. Her mission is to empower clients to take control of their own health using food, movement and lifestyle as medicine. She helps her clients ditch fad diets, gain strength, increase confidence and develop habits to support a healthy, sustainable lifestyle. In her free time, you can find Katie working out, traveling, hiking/enjoying the outdoors and spending time with her dogs and family.
